Here is some important minute information about the upcoming retreat.

TENTS: If you’ve donated use of your tent for the weekend – thank you! Please bring it to the school on Thursday, September 22nd. Make sure all parts of the tent and all accessories, stakes, etc. are included. Please include written directions on how to set up the tent. Make sure your name is labeled on the tent proper and on all of the accessories.

BANDANA MAKING PARTY: Stop by the orchestra room Thursday from 2:35-3:30 to decorate your bandana for the retreat. Everything will be supplied to you. You just need to show up, decorate and have fun!

NON-PERISHABLE FOOD AND SUPPLIES: If you’ve donated non-perishable food items or supplies – thank you! Please bring these items to the school on Thursday, September 22nd. If there is an item you would like returned to you after the retreat, be sure to label it clearly with your first and last name.

PERISHABLE FOOD ITEMS: Please bring these to DSA Friday evening.

PERSONAL ITEMS, STUDENTS and CHAPERONES: Drop off all personal items, you are taking with you to the retreat, to the orchestra room before the Moscow String Quartet performance. Please remember to label all of your personal items. See the packing list for what to bring.

WHO:

All DSA orchestra majors are required to attend. Due to the short notice of this event, those students with legitimate schedule conflicts must provide a written excuse signed by a parent/guardian or employer to be excused from this event.

 WHAT:

There is a longstanding tradition at DSA for all majors to take a weekend retreat together in the early part of the school year. The orchestra retreat is lovingly called the ‘Wombat Weekend Retreat.’

WHEN:           Friday, September 23rd to Sunday, September 25th.

WHY:

It’s a time for all orchestra students to come together, get to know each other, welcome the new students into the group. The weekend will focus around team building activities. Students will be divided into 4 teams or families and work together to provide meals and activities throughout the weekend.

 HOW:

$20 per student. (due 9/13) We are asking those families who are able to pay more to please pay $30. Students will car pool from DSA to the park.
